  1. So this person brings home 46k a year? The only thing this person does is mow? Is that how you want people reading it?

  2. You know, I am wondering if you are bi-polar?? One day you are putting the lawn mower man down saying all he does is ride around in circles and then the next day or two you are sticking up for him. I think you forget what you are posting. There is no way a person makes 46k a year mowing, and if you have people believing it, they are just as _ _ _ _ _ _ as you are !!!

  3. If you interpreted that post as a criticism of the guy who mows lawns, then I clearly didn't write the post correctly.

Had I done a good enough job of writing it, it would have read as critical of the people who are assigning him to mow when they could hire some part timer to do that for WAY WAY less and assign him work more worthy of someone with his skills.

    My bust. :)

  4. Anonymous 11/11/10 5:05PM,

Because you are so insistent, I stupidly mushed my stubby knuckles against my android's calculator again and got the following.

According to information out out at the October 25, 2010 Sac City Council meeting by Sac City Administrator Adam Ledford, the starting pay for this position will be $15.70 per hour. $15.70 X 40 hours per week is $628. $628 X 52 weeks is $32,656.

According to information put out at the October 25, 2010 Sac City Council meeting by Sac City Administrator Adam Ledford, the total of all costs to the city for this employee beyond the cost of wages will be $14,000, (give or take a couple thousand,) per year.

Again I got out my non-scientific calculator and smash it mindlessly against my forehead and done come up with the following:

$14,000 + $32,656 = $46,656 before overtime, Which at the October 25, 2010 Sac City Council meeting City of Sac City Maintenance Department Head Bob Scheffler described as "Maxed out".

Maybe if you attended a Sac City Council meet, you wouldn't be so confused.

    ;)

  5. I'm sorry, Anonymous 11/11/10 5:05PM. That line about attending the Sac City Council meet was just me being snarky. TSN will continue to provide video of that event indefinitely and the specific meeting segment to which I refer where you can double check my figures can be seen in context at http://thesacnews.blogspot.com/2010/11/sac-city-council-to-add-full-time.html

  6. Well I didn't think they got over time. I think they bank their over time hours and then they take that time off. Now correct me if I'm wrong,(which I'm sure plenty of you will), but I'm sure that's how it's done !!

  7. As a former employee, they have the choice, unless it has changed, to take the pay or take the time (banking it). It is up to the employee, or used to be, so the one who wants more pay would take the OT and the one who wants to get away from there a little more often banks it for the time off down the road.

  8. If this is the ideal job, why don't you all apply. Then you will know what the benefits are and how much you can make, if you want to work. I don't see where the problem is, unless your jealous than make a move to have the chance of a better job for yourself.
