Saturday afternoon traffic stop leads to possession charges for FD woman

On Saturday December 17lh, 2011 at approximately 4:35PM an officer with the Sac City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix for a traffic infraction.

According to police, the vehicle was being operated by 25 year old Matthew Schoon from Fort Dodge, Iowa. Schoon was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license and failure to stop at a red light.

During the stop the the officer became suspicious that other criminal activity may be happening in the vehicle. After obtaining consent, a search of the vehicle was conducted during which narcotics were alleged to have been found.

The passenger and owner of the vehicle, 21 year old Amanda Gregerson from Fort Dodge, Iowa was found to be in possession of a controlled substance of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gregerson was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Gregerson was booked into the Sac County Jail and held on $1.300.00 cash bond.

A substance believed to be marijuana was taken to the Carroll, Iowa Police Department for laboratory testing. The police department was assisted by the Sac County Sheriffs Office.

All people are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
