The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.

Brian Pibal, Iowa Workforce Development representative, made a presentation and a request to place a computer kiosk in the courthouse for Sac County residents to access the Workforce Development website. This access would allow people to check on job opportunities, unemployment benefits, etc.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to allow the Workforce Development computer to be placed in the courthouse at a location to be determined by the County Auditor for a trial period of 60 days. Ayes all, motion carried.

Adam Ledford, City Administrator for the City of Sac City submitted a proposal to the Board of Supervisors to develop a joint city/county agreement for an urban renewal district along the highway 20 corridor north of Sac City. No action was taken.

At 10:30 am, the Board received a phone call from the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors to discuss an issue in Joint DD 7 and 59. Gary Nicholson served as Chairman and Judy Howrey served as secretary. The joint boards had received a request from Proliant Meat Ingredients in Lytton to allow the discharge of non-contact cooling water to be discharged into the tile branch B of DD 7 and 59. Both boards will review the request and the condition of the tile and continue the discussion on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 10:00.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and informed the Board that all construction and maintenance projects had been completed for the season. All work on Highway 20 has been stopped until spring of 2012.

The Board and the Engineer discussed language in a job description for shop mechanic.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to appoint Dr. Pek, Dr. Gyano and Dr. Marczewski as deputy medical examiners for Sac County due to a new regulation requiring a medical doctor’s signature on paperwork for cremations. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed tree removal project on Jt DD 2 and 51, Open Ditch in Section 10, Cedar Twp., Sac County for $600.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht approve a proposed tile repair on DD 69 located in Section 30, Douglas Twp. for $400.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 12, Lateral 5 located in Section 23, Cedar Twp. for $400.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 71, Main Open Ditch located in Section 5, Wall Lake Twp. for $4500.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 4 Main Open Ditch and Main Tile located in Section 4, Jackson Twp. for $300.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve a proposed surface pipe repair in DD 89 located in Section 36, Cedar Twp. for $3000.00. Ayes all, motion carried.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
