November 21, 2011 - SAC CITY,IOWA - The East Sac County school board accepted Scott Johnson's resignation effective December 31, 2011. Following is Mr' Johnson's letter of resignation.

Burn ban lifted in Sac County, Iowa
SAC CITY - According to the Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshal Division, the burn ban in Sac County was lifted at 2:30PM on November 22, 2011.

Sac County Burn Ban Update – November 22, 2011
10:30AM - SAC CITY - According to Sac County Supervisor Rick Hecht, at least three citizens have been in contact with him asking to have the burn ban lifted. Hecht said that these citizens would be OK with having the fire department either oversee or issue a permit for the proposed brush pile burns that they would like to make.
Hecht indicate that Sac County Emergency Management Director Dr. Bullock is in contact with area fire chiefs. According to Bullock, five departments have returned his call, three of which indicated that they would allow the burn ban to be lifted, and two that indicated that they would not.
