Supervisors submit letter of support for Sac County Victim of Crimes program

Every year the Sac County Victim Services Coordinator, Sandy Aschinger applies for a grant under the Victim of Crime Act to assist in her work.

On February 2, 2010 the Sac County Supervisors directed Chairman Dean Stock to sign the following letter in support of the Sac County Victim program to help smooth the way for this year's grant.

Minutes of the February 2, 2010 Sac County Supervisors Meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to amend the agenda to consider the recommendation of the County Compensation Board. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to accept the recommendation of the Sac County Compensation Board of no increase in wages for the elected officials for the year ending June 30, 2011. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to set the public hearing for the proposed 2010 / 11 county budget for Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10:15 am in the boardroom. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to submit a letter of support for a grant application through the Federal Victims of Crime Act to fund Sac County’s victim service program. Ayes all, motion carried.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the payment policy for right of way acquisition and compensation for fence removal and replacement for FY 2010 as follows: Land purchased by easement for road purposes will be valued at 6.0 times the current values listed by the Sac County Assessor. Compensation for fence removal is $9.00 / rod for barb wire and $10.00 / rod for woven wire with barb wire. Replacement of fence is $11.00 / rod for barb wire and $17.00 / rod for woven wire with barb wire with a two year time frame. $85.00 per additional corner with double brace assembly at jog in right of way width and $50.00 per additional corner with single brace post assembly at intersecting fence. Ayes all, motion carried.
