City of Sac City to develop comprehensive plan
SAC CITY – On November 14, 2011 the Sac City Council decided to move forward with developing a comprehensive plan for the City of Sac City that would include nearly all aspects of planning the future of Sac City including but not limited to economic development, an inventory of resources, and quality of life.
The next step in the process will be handing the discussion off to the Sac City Planning and Zoning committee to get them involved in the process.

SAC CITY - The city of Sac City is proposing to enter into an agreement with Sac County to create a Tax Increment Financing area in the northwest portion of Sac City that would make accommodations available for recruitment of light industrial business along the bypass, and preserve and possible increase the valuation of the property and adjacent properties to which it would be applied.
In real terms, what this agreement will do is allow the cost of infrastructure in the proposed TIF area to be financed against the future difference between the present value of the land, and the increase in value of that land sound a business move in.
The Sac Council actually put off moving forward on this proposal until the full council can discuss it at the November 28, 2011 Sac City Council meeting.

SAC CITY – Without discussion the Sac City Council approved some minor changes to the Sac City Fire Department bylaws (following) regarding how fire department officers are elected and what their voting privlages are.

City of Sac City announces Thanksgiving garbage and recycling schedule
The City of Sac City Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24, & Friday, November 25, 2011 for Thanksgiving. Thursday’s recycling will be picked up with Wednesday’s garbage. Friday’s garbage will be picked up with Monday’s garbage on the 28th. Commercial recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, November 22.
