Odebolt man accused of Domestic Assault Involving a Weapon

ODEBOLT, IOWA – According to sac county clerk of court records, Shannon Gene Mahlberg has been accused of Domestic Abuse Assault involving a Weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

On November 13, 2011 a Sac County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to 426 Willow Street in Odebolt, Iowa where they say Amanda Ransom told them that Shannon Gene Mahlberg turned off the lights and held a butcher knife to her side while she was attempting to do dishes. According to court records, Ransom claims she was able to talk Mahlberg into removing the knife from her side.

All people accused of crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.





Odebolt man accused of Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd offense

ODEBOLT, IOWA - Shannon Gene Mahlberg of Odebolt, Iowa has been accused of Domestic Abuse Assault in the 2nd degree, a serious misdemeanor.

According to Court records Shannon assaulted Amanda Kay Ransom by punching her in the back of the head.

In an affidavit dated November 20, 2011 Sac County Deputy Kristan Erskin said that Ransom told her that her fiance Mahlberg punched her in the head at approximately 11:00AM on November 20, 2011 and then proceeded to throw a Hot Wheel toy at her head. The Hot Wheel toy is alleged to have missed her head and broke a window. The incident is alleged to have happened in front of 4 children between the ages of 5 and 13 years of age.

All people accused of crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
