minutes of the November 22, 2011 Sac County Supervisors meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Rick Hunsaker and Corrina Ward from Region XII Council of Governments and Jim Bullock, Sac County EMA Director, were present to discuss renewal of the county hazard mitigation plan through a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The FEMA grant is for $22,500 and Sac County would be responsible for a minimum of $7,500 of in-kind match for the project.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the application for the hazard mitigation renewal plan. Ayes all, motion carried.
Sheriff McClure proposed a 3% increase in the contract law enforcement fee schedule for the 2012/13 budget year for the cities which the Sac County Sheriff’s office provides that service and possibly another 3% increase for the ‘13/14 budget year. The sheriff informed the Board that his office has never charged the cities for hours worked beyond the number of contract hours and that he felt that maybe that issue should be addressed as well.
After some discussion the Board felt that the 3% rate increase for ‘12/13 would be appropriate at this time and look at the additional fees at a later date.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a building permit application for new construction within the urban transition area on North 16th Street in Sac City. Ayes all, motion carried. Application for building permits within the urban transition areas require approval from the City and the County.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews, the status of current maintenance and construction projects and construction on Highway 20 as it pertains to secondary roads.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the plans for replacing a bridge with a box culvert on County Road M54 north of County Road D15. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the plans for replacing a bridge with a box culvert on County Road M35 south of Highway 20. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
