Slick roads lead to two accident injuries on Monday morning

Sac County Sheriff's Office investigated two separate accidents on the
morning of Monday December 19, 2011. Drivers from both accidents were taken
to area hospitals with minor injuries. Both accidents where caused by slick
road conditions

First accident was reported at 6:03AM and occurred south of ¾ of a mile
north of D-15 on Hwy 71. Jennifer Ann Purvis age 39 of Early, Iowa was
operating a 1998 Chevy Blazer and was headed north on Hwy 71. Purvis lost
control on her SUV and entered the west ditch where the vehicle rolled one
time landing on its wheels. The vehicle then continued through a fence and
came to a stop in the field. The vehicle was totaled in the accident.
Purvis was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Strom Lake
by the Sac County Ambulance Service. Purvis was cited for failure to
maintain control. Early Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.



The second accident occurred west of Auburn on Hwy 175 at the curves. The
accident occurred at 6:40AM. Daniel Kimutai Kemboi age 30 of West Des Moines
was operating a 2003 Freightliner semi and lost control on the curve as he
was headed north. The semi-tractor and trailer jackknifed and entered in to
the north ditch. Kemboi received minor injuries and was transported to
Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City by Sac County Ambulance. The tractor
trailer unit which is owned by Musyoka Jackson of Urbandale, Iowa received
an estimated $30,000.00 in damage. Kemboi was charged with failure to
maintain control and operation without registration. Auburn Fire Rescue
assisted at the scene.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
