Thelma Fitzsenry, age 82, of Schaller, Iowa died December 3, 2009 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.
Thelma Mae Vogler was born July 24, 1927 in Schaller, Iowa to Adolph and Hedwig (Langner) Vogler. She was baptized on December 1, 1931 and later confirmed on May 25, 1941. She graduated from Schaller in 1944 and continued her education for two more years attending business school in Sioux City, Iowa.
On July 24, 1949, Thelma was united in marriage to Robert E. Fitzsenry at the Lutheran Parsonage in Schaller. This union was blessed with five children: Tamera, Dwight, Darla, Janda and Todd.
Thelma was a member of Ladies Aid and Eden Neighbors. She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. She enjoyed gardening and was a big Iowa Hawkeye Fan. Thelma treasured collecting flamingos, saving poems and pictures. She loved animals and traveling on vacations with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five children: Tamera (Pat) Davis of Austin, Texas; Dwight Fitzsenry of Schaller; Darla (Dennis) Miller of Schaller; Janda (David) Radke of Galva, Iowa; Todd Fitzsenry of Kalona, Iowa; her grandchildren Josh (Lisa) Miller of Washington D.C.; Leah (Kevin) Allen of Chicago, Illinois; Nathan Fitzsenry of Carroll, Iowa; Angie (special friend, Mike) Fitzsenry of Omaha, Nebraska; Matthew Davis of Austin, Texas; Chelynne (Ben) Campion; Seth and Sam Radke of Galva; her great grandchildren: Ethan and Lilly Fitzsenry of Carroll; J.D. Miller of Washington D.C.; her sisters: Lorraine (Wayne) Fey of Battle Creek, Iowa and Delores Mills of Hemit, California; her sisters-in-law: Pearl Wandrey of Schaller; Faye Hermansen of Wisconsin; Mona Lou Fitzsenry and Lucille Fitzsenry, both of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Bim Fitzsenry of California; her brothers-in-law, Claire (Simone) Fitzsenry of Massachusetts and Chuck Ford of Perry, Iowa; nieces, nephews and friends.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Hedwig Vogler; her husband, Robert; her brothers: Adolph, Vernon and Donald Vogler; and her brother-in-law, Bob Mills.
