Addressing a crowd of about 40, Tom DeVries spoke about American rights and reminded everyone that it is the soldier that protects those rights.
Reverend Andrew Ratcliffe followed and recognized aloud that it is God who blesses our soldiers and allows them to achieve victory and defend the rights of free people everywhere. The Reverend Ratcliffe performed offered a prayer for the heroes past and present that have served in the armed forces.
The ceremony was closed by the Honor Detail of Sac City VFW Post 590 who performed a rifle salute and Taps.
