Raiders Roll at Home

The 7th grade Raiders kept their perfect record intact and the 8th graders came away with an exciting win as the East girls traveled to Odebolt to take on the Falcons of OABCIG on Tuesday.

The East Sac 7th grade team had beaten by the Falcons before Christmas by a slim margin, but were able play some better defense and put the ball in the basket better to come home with a nice 41-20 win. Lexie Berry led East’s attack by dropping in 12 points. Her 5 rebounds and 8 steals also led the team in those departments. Other scorers in a nice balanced attack were Sydney Ernst, Kendal Herrig, and Lexi Willson who each had 8, Ashton Blum with 4, and Bailey Jacobsen with 1. Jacobsen and Willson each had 4 rebounds and Herrig followed Berry with 6 steals for the Raiders who led 21-8 at the half.

Jordan Fischer popped in 10 points for the Raiders on the day leading the 8th grade team to their tightly contested 26-20 win. Sydney Schwanz was right behind with 8, and Jaylynn Peters and Brooke Odendahl each contributed 4 more for East in the tough defensive contest. Sydney Schwanz led the rebounding with her 9 boards. She got help from Ashlnn Jarvis and Odendahl who pulled down 4 each and Peters who pulled down 3. Schwanz and Fischer each took 3 steals to lead on defense followed by 2 each from the rest of the squad.
