East Sac County high school band students selected to play in Iowa State University Cardinal Honor Band

Four East Sac County high school band students have been selected to play in the 35th annual Iowa State University Cyclone Honor Band, to be held February 4-5, 2011, in Ames, Iowa. The Iowa State Cardinal Honor Band is comprised of approximately 100 students from over 40 schools across Iowa. Students were selected for the band by Iowa State University band instructors, based upon director recommendations. The Cardinal Band is directed by Melvin Miles, Director of Bands at Morgan State University in Baltimore.

Students selected from East Sac County are (l to r): Jennifer Munger (Horn), daughter of Tom and Peggy Munger of Sac City, Britney Anderson (Flute), daughter of Martin and Gina Anderson of Sac City, Holly Wampler (Clarinet), daughter of Teresa Merical of Sac City, and Mandi Johnson (Tuba), daughter of Marlin and Candi Johnson of Lake View.

The students will have rehearsals on the campus of ISU on February 4-5, ending with a concert on February 5 in Stephens Auditorium at 3:00 PM.
