Minutes of the January 18, 2011 Sac County Supervisors Meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to re-appoint Kenny Bentsen to the RC&D Board to represent Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to appoint Randy Aschinger to the Sac County Board of Adjustment. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to re-appoint Dr. David Youberg as Sac County Medical Examiner for 2011. Ayes all, motion carried.

The Board met via telephone conference with the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors to establish a joint meeting on drainage district 2 & 51.

It was moved by Hecht of Sac County and seconded by Hoag of Calhoun County that Jack Bensley serve as chair and Jim Dowling serve as secretary for this joint meeting. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht of Sac County and seconded by Nicholson of Calhoun County to set an informal hearing on DD 2 & 51 for Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 1:30 pm in the Sac County law enforcement center conference room. Ayes all, motion carried.

With there being no further business for the joint boards, the meeting adjourned.

Jim Burns and Rick Hunzaker of Region XII Council of Governments presented the annual update for that agency and a funding request for fiscal year 2012 totaling $20,639.95.

Shannon Mahannah and Jayne Wilhelm from New Opportunities was present to request funding in the amount of $9,000.00 for fiscal year 2011/12.

Rhonda Dean from the Council Against Assault and Sexual Abuse presented a funding request of $2500.00 for the next fiscal year.

Betty Brotherton and Shirley Phillips submitted a request for $8400.00 to fund the Sac County Historical Society for 2011/12.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to appoint Wilma Fort, Betty Bardole, Betty Brotherton, Shirley Phillips, Joan Godberson and Laura Zimmerman to the Sac County Certified Local Government group which represents the local historical society. Ayes all, motion carried.

The County Engineer submitted a report on the activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
