Sac County 4-H Beef Weigh-In

The market beef weigh-in will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 1-3pm at the Harold Peyton farm near Lytton.

All market beef to be shown by 4-H and FFA members at the Sac County Fair must be weighed-in and identified.

4-H and FFA members, if you wish to show at the Iowa State Fair we will be using the retinal imaging machine which will cost $2.50/head. If you wish to show at Ak-Sar-Ben you must have your market animals DNA taken at this time and the cost is $5/head. If parents and/or 4-H members are not going to be at the weigh-in a waiver must be picked up before the weigh-in at the Extension Office and then brought to the weigh-in already signed. Please listen to KAYL 101.7 for any changes due to the weather.

We will again be having the Beef Pen of 3 again this year. They must be weighed-in on January 8th! To be eligible to show at the Sac County you must be in 4th grade or have completed 4th grade and to be eligible to show at the Iowa State Fair & Ak-Sar-Ben you must be in 5th grade or have completed 5th grade.
