LAKE VIEW, IOWA - DECEMBER 6, 2010
(City administrator’s instructions to the council)
Ordinance 427
120610LVCCDOC0024
1. This ordinance codifies a requirement for a submitted site plan for new structures.
2. While working on the comprehensive plan, the council passed a resolution requiring a site plan which required that people building in Lake View provide the council with a site plan. The resolution did not provide an explanation about what exactly that entailed, which caused the new restaurant process to not be so smooth.
3. Ordinance 427 actually spells out what the city would like in site plans that are submitted.
- It does not set any criteria that have to be met.
-- City administrators calls it a negotiation tool.
--- Before any building can be done, the city council has the ability to reject the site plan and stop the progress of any building.
--- The city can choose to require that the builder supply an engineer.
