Sac County Supervisors debate the pros and cons of establishing urban revitalization plans
SAC CITY, IOWA – JULY 6, 2010
1. The argument against is that it would not allow the county to have any control about who gets to utilize the abatement aspect.
- The asked for abatement is pretty heavy handed and would deny the county taxes for years.
- business (Farmers Coop) is going to move in even if the abatement is not approved.
2. Naturally the no-trick ponies in charge of bringing business to the county (what businesses?) are desperately grasping at the special treatment option.
--Look for the future lie in some unscrupulous local newspaper claiming responsibility for “bringing this business in” in when it was actually a purely geographic consideration.
