Wunschel Lake View building permit explained, approved
LAKE VIEW, IOWA – JULY 6, 2010
Dee Ann Wunschel lives out by Ryan’s East End. She had proposed to put a second story on her home. The initial permit allowed her to build a second story straight up from the existing first story walls. It was then discovered that her structure was 4 feet from the property line, which is fine for a one story structure, but not for a two story structure which has to be 6 feet from the property line.
A request was made to the board of adjustment, but the variance request was denied. With the variance denied, Dee started over and submitted a request for a new building permit with the second story’s walls jogging in two feet to accommodate for that 6 foot rule.
Permit approved.
