Robert “Bob” Wellington Wallerstedt, age 77, of Sac City, Iowa passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Bob was born March 2, 1933 in Sac City to Russell and Ruby (Wellington) Wallerstedt. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

On August 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Karen (Kay) Cates in Sac City, where they raised their five children. Bob worked as a draftsman for Otto Engineering, Kuehl & Payer, and Sac County until retirement.

Survivors include four children: Mitch, Sally, Matt, and Bill Wallerstedt all of Sac City; two grandchildren: Amanda (Chad) Lynch and Chad (Rachel) Wallerstedt; six great-grandchildren: Macy, Mia, Ella, Sophie and Lilah Lynch and Cale Wallerstedt. He is also survived by two brothers: Tom (Sandy) Wallerstedt of Storm Lake and Mark Wallerstedt of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law Betty Wallerstedt of Storm Lake and Cindy Cates of Kansas; brother-in-law Kenny Flink of Ida Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Ernest Niles; wife Kay; son Mike; brothers: Dick Wallerstedt, Jim Wallerstedt, and Gordon Niles; sister Karen Flink; sisters-in-law Mavis Wallerstedt and Veryl Waldrop; brother-in-law Chuck Cates and nephew John Phillips.
