LAKE VIEW, IOWA - APRIL 18, 2011
The Lake View City Council approved the use of the stone piers in the town bay for the “Stone Pier Summer Concert” series to be held in that town. This was a two part decision, the first being a waiver of the city’s noise ordinance, and the second being the useof the pier.
According to City Administrator Scott Peterson, the only concert that will run past dusk is the is the Brasher/Bogue concert on July 1.
In the case of inclement weather, Councilor Laney indicated that Slow Jam on June 10 was invited to play at Laney’s Corral, and that The King of the Tramps with The Further Adjustments are already booked to continue playing after the May 27 show in Laney’s as well. No such arrangements have been made with any of the other bands at this point, however. According to councilor Foval-North, the Legion Hall is reserved, but admitted that the hall is “not ideal” The organizers are looking around for other options.
