Sac City Council OK’s transfer of funds from Sac Community Center demolition fund to operating fund
SAC CITY, IOWA – AUGUST 23, 2010
On Monday, August 23, 2010 the Sac City Council authorized transfer of $5,000 from the $45,000 demolition fund to the operation fund. One of the provisions of the 28E agreement is that should the Sac Community Center fail, it will be torn down using a special fund that is otherwise not to be touched for the purpose of demolishing it.
Chelsea Bengford, the Sac Community Center’s director appeared before the Council personally to ask for the transfer. Without this transfer, the center will be unable to pay its bills.
According to Bengford, the Community Center will pay the fund back as memberships renew in October.
The next step will be to get the approval of the Sac Community School board. This shouldn’t be too hard as four of that board’s five members of that board are on record supporting the Community Center.
