Believes Steve King is wrong about "anchor baby" issue

Dear Editor,

Hispanic Republicans believe the Constitution of the United States is under attack. The new Congress was supposed to start the New Year with introducing fiscally conservative measures, however, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is already implementing legislation that will cost tax payers millions of dollars to defend even though we are already experiencing fiscal distress. According to this Story at Politico - http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47125.html, King wants to amend the Constitution, however, the US statutes on immigration and citizenship were codified by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), where the details have already been debated and passed by the Senate. Children are guaranteed citizenship by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution (see the Supreme Court's ruling in U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark.), and it is unlikely that this part of the INA could be successfully changed because of the Wong Kim Ark Supreme Court precedent.

King has both an oath and a duty to protect the Constitution of the United States but is instead “shredding it” by attacking American freedoms and the Rights of American-born babies. We believe King is a hypocrite for seeking the “Right to Life” endorsement because he continues to use the dehumanizing term – “anchor baby”. The Republican Party is supposed to pride itself with a strong “right to life” position, yet, King continues to refer to babies as lifeless objects as he seeks to strip them from their rights.

  1. How does Steve Kings keep getting elected. Some of the garbage that comes out of his mouth is laughable and yet he gets elected time and again. From the war in Iraq to today he is on the wrong side of most everything. He is also a fair tax guy. Wants a 23% tax on all money spent and none on income. Does not have a clue what that means for people that spend every dime they get just to live in his America. That means 23% tax for the retired and disabled and poor people. Watch this clown on C-Span before you vote for him again maybe you will change your vote! But he hates gays, any people other than white and abortion, but he loves guns and God so that is enough for Iowa's 5th.
