I think people in Lake View and Odebolt, (and Early and Auburn) will care about this stuff. According to Google, they are already reading for crime and county news that they are not getting from the paper.
I think giving them coverage of their local government might just bump up their loyalty to TSN.
PLUS: Our fates are now tied together via the school. If it happens in Lake View, it affects Sac City. If it happens in Wall Lake, it affects Sac City. You WILL be paying taxes for things that will benefit Lake View. Lake View WILL be paying taxes on things that benefit Sac City.
Who the hell cares? Anyone that is still planning on being alive 5 years from now should damn well care about what's happening in ALL of the ESC towns.
Which reminds me, I'm looking for a volunteer to film the Wall Lake City Council meeting on Monday. Will reimburse up to $10.00 for fuel.
I appreciate news from surrounding areas Curtis. An informed citizen should know not only about their community, but the communities around them as well. If this person does not care about other communities then simply don't read the article. Why is that people don't write into The Sac Sun telling them not to report on happenings around Iowa but people seem to think it's ok to tell you that? Here you are providing a free service and people pick at you. I for one appreciate what you do. It seems like I pick up The Sac Sun or The Lake View Resort and I already know most of what's in there and have known it for quite some time thanks to The Sac News!
I agree, this is the sac news, right? It's starting to get more and more like the Sac Sun! Might as well see how many others you can bring in Curtis to keep raking in the cash, ahhhhh, the smell of capitalism trumping true intentions. That motto was "Why wait until next Tuesday?" but then I discovered that the Sac Sun wasn't actually a competitor, since we do totally different things, so I changed it to "Your daily dose of Sac City, Iowa" If I am successfully able to expand coverage it will be, "Your daily dose of Sac County, Iowa."
A news site that *gasp* report news from the entire area! The nerve of some people! Next you'll be reporting on state or even federal (the horror) events that affect us in Sac County. Just who do you think you are? But, if you are driven by greed, then I completely understand. By now you've made thousands upon thousands of dollars from your site, right? Why else would you bother with all the effort you put into your reporting? Surely not for altruistic reasons.
Oh Curtis, I can't believe you have to defend yourself on this subject. Ridiculous. Keep up the good work. And report on anything that you damn well please, it's your site, we don't pay you to tell us what we want to hear.

Look folks, it's becoming clear that almost every single anonymous personal attack on me is the work of one single jealous ex-classmate who just sits at home pretending to be several different people.
Actual people that have legitimate criticisms got in touch with me years ago, they email me or talk to me face to face, and have carried on productive dialogs with me for... well, years in some cases.
I really appreciate the support, but this guy is just a troll who isn't worth your time. Don't let him upset you or he wins. Look at it the same way I do... it's just a mildly amusing game.

I live outside of Sac County now but grew up there and I enjoy reading what's happening in my home town AREA!! Keep up the good work Curtis!!!!!
