The East Sac Raider Middle School girls took care of matters on the home court on December 6, 2010 and December 7, 2010 and both the 7th and 8th grade teams were each rewarded with a pair of wins.
On Monday, the 7th graders struggled with their shooting but were able to pull off a 25-17 win over the Falcons of OABCIG.
Lexie Berry led the East offense with her 12 points, and Lexi Willson offered another 9 for the winners.
Kendal Herrig chipped in the other 4.
Willson was leading rebounder by pulling down boards.
Berry and Bailey Jacobsen each grabbed 5 for the Raiders.
Berry had 7 steals on defense while Ashton Blum contributed another 4 for East.
Tuesday’s game saw the 7th graders ring up 44 points while holding South Central Calhoun to just 6 to pick up the win.
Berry was again the leading scorer with her 16 points.
Sydney Ernst followed with 11, while Willson had 8, Jacobsen put in 5, and Herrig and Blum each chipped in 2 in the victory.
13 rebounds by Willson topped that department followed by Ernst, Jacobsen, and Herrig each with 6.
Berry’s 7 steals led for the Raiders on defense.
The 8th graders started off their week with a hard-fought 33-25 win over the Falcons. After trailing 16-12 at the half, the Raiders were able to turn up the effort a bit and turned the tide to the final margin of victory.
Ariana Batz topped the scoring for East with her dozen points, while Jaylynn Peters and Jordan Fischer each added 6.
Sydney Schwanz gave the Raiders another 5, while Brooke Odendahl and Aubrey Houska both added 2.
Schwanz and Peters both had 7 rebounds for the East girls while Fischer grabbed 6 steals for the Raiders on defense.
They 8th graders were able to follow up with a second win on Tuesday as they topped the Titans by a 30-13 tally.
Fischer’s 10 points were tops for ESC.
Odendahl contributed 9 for the winners, Peters again dropped in 6, while Batz had 4 and Ashlnn Jarvis had the other 1.
Peters had 6 rebounds and 5 steals for the Raiders while Batz led in steals with 7.
One game left before Christmas sees the ESC record for both squads now at 5-0.
