Robbie Dean Staton, age 45, of Lake View, IA, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010, at his home. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Robbie Dean Staton was born on July 11, 1965, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa. He grew up in the Sac City and Lake View areas. He graduated from Wall-Lake-View-Auburn High School and went on to further his education at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View, IA.

Rob was a special person to those who really knew him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to talk about memories from his past. He enjoyed any invitation for food and family. He had a love of music and was a true Ozzy Osborne fan. One of his wishes was to attend an Ozzfest which his Aunt Pam was able to fulfill this last summer in Chicago. He was an avid reader and spent hours reading good books. He also had a tremendous heart for dogs and enjoyed the companionship of his special dog until he passed away. Watching Iowa Hawkeye football with his grandpa Leitz was always a special event he looked forward to. He also enjoyed the social interaction of those at the Howard Center and was proud of the work he did to help others in need. Other special times included his weekly shopping trip to Carroll with his aunt Barb and grandma Leitz. The trip was not complete without a stop for burgers and a chocolate malt, which he treasured. Rob will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents Sharon and Dennis Peters of Lake View, IA; brother Seth Peters of Des Moines, IA; maternal grandparents LeRoy Leitz of Lake View, IA, and Joan Leitz of Lake View, IA; aunts: Barb (Jim) Smith of Lake View, IA, Pamela Leitz of Lake View, IA, and many cousins, extended family members and friends.

Preceded in death by his grandparents Lee and Helen Staton; great-grandparents: Roy and Hazel McClintock, and Frank and Nellie Leitz; uncle Michael Leitz; and cousin Erika Auen.
