That there is an ankle buster!
ReplyDeletewonder if it ever gets old putting Sac City down....my thought is if you hate Sac So bad MOVE!! it is one thing after another, we don't like the streets, city employee's get bad to much, all you hear from you is Sac City sucks and it is gettting old!!
ReplyDeleteI love Sac City, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
ReplyDeleteWhat does "city employees get bad to much" mean?
ya know things only get better if somebody complains! Other wise nothing would get done! So stop your bitching at curt for pointing out the issues and complain to the leaders of the community!!!! Grow up people and put the blame where it belongs
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like Curtis's reporting, y o y do you keep reading it?
ReplyDeleteAdmit it, you don't get this in the "Official Publication".
I Love This Web Site. I Check In Sometimes 3 Times A Day. Keep Up The Good Work Curt Im Behind Ya All The Way...
ReplyDeleteExactly...the problem is it's easier to bitch about the people complaining and those trying to do something about the issues going on than it is to face the real problems in the community. Some people want to claim ignorance to issues, then blame the citizens when they try ask questions about it or do something about them. Come to an Auburn City Council meeting, you can see that first hand. Wish I could see into their emails and meetings outside the Council meetings though. That's where the real magic happens. Otherwise why would they table issues one month and have an answer with no discussion the next?!
ReplyDeleteIt would be AMAZING if the Sac City Council even tabled things once and then came back to them to vote without discussing it. At least then we would have an opportunity to know it was coming and react appropriately. Instead, they are magically able to vote on things the very first time they come up without discussing them!
ReplyDeleteNo illegal meetings being conducted by these guys. Nope.
Apparently someone should learn grammar though. You don't have to capitalize every single word. Good grief.
ReplyDeleteYou’re right, I am kind of addicted to capitalizing things. Thanks for the heads up. :)
ReplyDelete...It was one word... Baha.
ReplyDeleteNot you, Curtis, the other person.
ReplyDeleteIt is also easy to complain how others do their job while you sit here at a computer putting those people down. It is one thing to keep the council focused and on track but also remember we voted them in. I don't ever see on here how Food Pride has to high of prices or how exspenive it is to shop down town. The main focus is always the City. Your telling me the county never does anything worth writing about. If you do not like the job the council is doing then run next time a seat is open. You can complain all you want but until you get off your ass and get on a committee to try and help or change the things you see wrong then you have no right to complain about the job/jobs people do.
ReplyDeleteYou can complain all you want, but until you get off your ass and start a news gathering agency, you have no right to complain about the job I do.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding, complain away.
But let me ask you something in all seriousness. Hypothetically, do I get the right to complain if I sit on some random committee, or do I have to be the committee leader before I have the right to complain? I ask hypothetically, of course because there is no chance of anything like that happening.
Food Pride and the businesses downtown are privately owned businesses. You don't have the right to complain to them if you don't like their prices, you just have the right to decide whether you want to spend your money there or not.
ReplyDeleteGovernment is supposed to serve the needs and best interests of the citizens. That is why they are subject to such scrutiny, deserved or not.
You always have the choice to live somewhere else. Especially coming from someone who makes a very nice living off government funds!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, you have the right to complain about anything you want, anywhere, even to a private business. They, however, also have the right to disregard your complaints. They'll listen if you take your business elsewhere, but that won't change anything other than your checkbook balance, if you don't also tell them why you're taking your business elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that we should support our downtown businesses. These people are trying to make a living just like the rest of us. Plus everyone knows who owns the businesses and they know us. That's always beneficial.
ReplyDeleteThose of you who choose to frequent the Wal-Marts, Hy-vee's, and Menards of the bigger cities rather then spend a few dollars and cents more at your local businesses are the a big part of the reason those businesses have trouble competing price wise. Keep your money in Sac county and EVERYBODY wins.
ReplyDeleteall I am saying is walk a mile in someone's else shoes before you pass judgement on them.
ReplyDeleteWe have the right to debate the character of the people we elect. No "walking a mile in their shoes" or any other such rubbish required.
ReplyDeleteYou seriously think that way? What's wrong with you?
Think what it would be like in Sac City if we had no grocery store or downtown hardware store or a farm supply business, or any of our business's that we have here in Sac City. We would have to travel a considerable distant, at anytime there were needs. In bad weather it would not be easy especially for the older generations! I'm not saying one shouldn't shop out of town, but also we need to appreciate and do business with our fine business people in town, also. They need us as much as we need them! You really sometimes don't know what you have until you loose it! We have many very good stores in Sac City. Enjoy shopping out of town when you want, however, also shop locally as much as possible. There are some excellent buys and prices, if you watch ads, and know your prices. We have some very talented, hard working sincere Sac City business people. Competition helps make shopping in town often even better.
ReplyDeleteWe are apart of Sac City, and need to back our town. It is like a job you don't like, if it does not suit you,LEAVE! Nasty actions only promote more of same. Lets have some positive team work for the betterment of Sac City. Knock off all the negatism!
I think the portion of your letter in which you advocate for competition is utter bullshit. Businesses that duplicate services are actively discouraged from opening their doors in this town. I've experienced that first hand, and have heard anecdotal stories in other business types. (In-home day care anyone?)
ReplyDeleteMight I also add that your attitude is worse for Sac City than a couple of random people who feel ripped off by local prices. You people that keep telling folks who don't like it to leave are getting your wish... they are.
Maybe if you quit coming to TSN and complaining about the couple of regular folks who are merely noting what’s wrong (which is actually helpful when you think about it,) and instead start reacting to that and changing the things for which you are responsible, the whole town will benefit.
For instance, you seem to be suggesting that there is a perception problem about in-town prices. Rather than just telling people to move to another town, maybe you could put together an informational flyer telling people exactly how YOU do it so they, (and subsequently the entire town,) can benefit from your knowledge.
Nah… come to think of it, it’s probably too much work to actually DO anything, right? It’s way easier to blame people for not having a positive attitude.
