Visitation was: Wednesday, 5-7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00, May 19, 2010 at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake.
Funeral Service: Thursday, 10:30 a.m., May 20, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake.
Interment: Following the service May 20, 2010 at Wall Lake Cemetery.


Betty L. Pittman, age 77, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.


Born on February 11, 1933, in Manning, Iowa, Betty was the daughter of Elmer F. and Leora A. (Martens) Popp. She graduated from Manning High School. She lived in Manning until her marriage to Virtus C. Pittman on February 17, 1969, in Lohrville, Iowa. They made their home in Wall Lake.


Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Pittman Construction for many years. She was a collector of “Precious Moments”, dolls, and plates. She liked to go out to eat and ballroom dancing. She loved the old time music featuring Wayne Newton and Andy Williams, and never missed the Lawrence Welk Show at 7:00 on Saturday night. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake.


Survivors include her husband, Virtus Pittman; three sisters: Neoma and John Vanderheiden of Harlan, Janice and Larry Kolb of N. Hills, CA, and Gloria and Denny Cunconan of Bondurant, IA; sister-in-law Vivalee and Ed Pickhinke of Sac City; many nieces and nephews and extended family members.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law Valaria Meister; and brothers-in-law: Virgil, Verial, and Verlin Pittman.
