The A team played hard but ended up losing their match 13-21, 21-23 and 15-8. Breanne O’Neill led the team in the 2nd game by rallying the team from an 11-20 deficit to a 21-20 lead. She served 8 for 11 with 5 aces. Carissa Steinkamp helped the team with 8 out of 8 serves and 1 ace. Megan Wright led the team in attacks by completing 9 out of 12 with 9 kills. Courtney Paysen also played the net aggressively with 5 out of 5 kills.
The B team also fell to the Wolves with scores of 16-21, 13-21, and 7-15. Hanna Jastorff led the team by completing 9 out of 11 serves with 5 aces. Both Jordan Raine and Hannah Schmidt each had a kill at the net.
The C team was also defeated by IKM-Manning with scores of 9-21, 10-21, 5-15. They struggled with their serving, but Rebekkah Tice has 2 aces, Ashley Aschinger had 1 ace, and Amberly Jergens had 1 ace. Amberly Jergens also went 1 for 1 at the net with a kill.
The Raiders take on Schleswig at home on Monday, September 19.
The 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Manilla on Thursday, September 15 to take on the IKM-Manning Wolves.
The A team won their match winning the best 2 out of 3 21-16, 22-20, 11-15. Lexi Wilson led the A team in serving and attacks going 9 for 9 in serving with 2 aces and completing 9 attacks with 3 kills. Sydney Ernst hit 6 out of 7 serves with 1 ace to help with the win.
The B team took all 3 games from the Wolves 21-12, 21-16, 15-4. Kendal Herrig hit 21 out of 24 serves with 7 aces to lead the B team in serving. Also serving well was Emilee Drost hitting 7 out of 8 serves with 5 aces.
The C team dropped its first match of the season 19-21, 21-4, 6-15. Bailey Jacobsen hit 14 out of 16 serves with 8 aces in serving.
