Early City Council intends to do mediation between local bar and neighboring homes

EARLY, IOWA – JANUARY 4, 2011

1. 90% of calls made to the Sac County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) are unfounded.
2. The group of people who showed up at council meet two months ago have not actually call SCSD.
3. SCSD deputy was sitting in front of bar at a time that a loud noise complaint came in, and there was nothing coming out of there.
4. SCSD does not know if mediation will work, but is willing to try something.
5. Sheriff suggests that maybe what the particular neighbor who is complaining is just hearing normal conversational levels of speech, but at 1 in the morning when there is no other sound to mask it.
6. Tentative time for mediation set for at January 24, 2011 at 5:00PM at City Hall.
