November 2, 2010 Sac County Supervisors Meeting


SAC CITY, IOWA – NOVEMBER 2, 2010

1. Call to Order.
2. Approval of minutes of previous meeting.
3. Amendment of agenda.
4. Approval of Agenda.


5. Supervisors canceled drainage warrants issued to the Line Brothers for $8.00 and the Hudson Law Firm for $20.00.


6. Approval of payment of claims.


7. Supervisors approve the application for final payment and change orders for the DD73 project.
- Hecht and Stock agree that the contractors did good work.
- There was no interaction with the public during the public hearing on October 26, 2010 at 1:20PM.
- The final approval authorizes payment of $11,049.31 (10% of the principal)
-This vote also approves change orders for a difference of $13, 0112.58


8. County crew report.
- Roads Department asked to get after grading roads after a rain as they would clear snow after a blizzard.
- Situation in Grant City not cleared up yet.

10. Highway 20 update.

- It doesn’t seem that the state is asking the county to upgrade N14 in any way before the state takes it.
-- It is unclear exactly what will happen to N14 at the time that the bypass opens.
-- It doesn’t seem at this point that N14 will be open at the time of the bypass opening.
11. There may be a road vacation hearing for Quince Ave during the 2010-2011 winter season.


12. According to Sac County Engineer, Ron Haden, the construction engineer’s office in district 1 is not sure when they will be able to get highway 20 open to highway 4.


13. Equipment operator interviews completed on November 2, 2010.
-Starts at $14.89 per hour – 40 per week would amount to about $31,000 for the year. add another 5,800 for IPERs, Medicare, FICA Work Comp. Medical insurance is estimated to be another $4,600, and estimated overtime pay will be about $1,000 for a ballpark total of $42,400.
