Adalian Remmick, age 90, of Lake View, IA, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake.
Adalian Marie Milbrett was born on November 11, 1919, in New Ulm, MN, to parents William and Else (Albrech) Milbrett. She grew up in New Ulm receiving her elementary education there.
On October 29, 1938, she married Elvin Remmick, at a Lutheran Church in Olivia, MN. To this union four sons were born: Elvin, LeRoy, Daryl, and Arlen. The Remmick’s spent some time in Oregon before moving back to Minnesota. In 1955, they moved to Lake View, and were members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church there.
Adalian supported her family as a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed embroidery, cooking, and sewing, which included making dresses out of flower sacks. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Elvin Remmick of Cushing, IA, and Arlen (Mary) Remmick of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren: Allan Remmick of Spencer, IA, Richard Remmick of Sprinfield, MO, James Remmick of Mapleton, IA, and Sharon Hoffard of Sac City, IA; Beth & Millisa; Angie Greer of Omaha, NE; Tenna Remmick of Lake View, IA; Troy Remmick of Fort Worth, TX; Jeff Ratigan of Fort Worth, TX; and Scott Remmick of Boyer, IA; numerous great-grandchildren; brother Raymond Milbrett of Swisshome, OR; sister Deloris Rusted of Minnesota; and many extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Elvin; her parents William and Else; sons LeRoy and Daryl; daughter-in-law Leanne Remmick; three brothers; and three sisters.
