Two more arrested in connection with February meth bust

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office arrested two other people in connection with the alleged manufacturing of methamphetamine. Jerry Wayne Loggins age 50 of Havelock, Iowa and Erin Hammond age 37 of Odebolt, Iowa have both been charged with Aiding and Abetting the Manufacturing of more than 5-grams of Methamphetamine. This charge is a Class “B” felony.

The charges stem from a joint investigation involving the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, Storm Lake Police and the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office in February 2010 in which a search warrant was served at the residence of Shirley Schmitt located at 2650 Ira Ave. Early.

Sheriff’s Office alleges that Loggins and Hammond assisted in the manufacturing with Schmitt. Schmitt has already been charged and is awaiting trial. Both Loggins and Hammond remain in the Sac County Jail

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
