Lake View City Council takes steps to save money when scheduling power needs


LAKE VIEW, IOWA – SEPTEMEBER 20, 2010

1. Every single day, Lake View is giving WAPA an estimate of how much power they are using in the “day ahead” market.
- Under this agreement, Mid-America wants the ability to read the meters daily at the substation.
-- Right now they only read it once a month.
2. WAPA owns the meters
- WAPA agree to have an upgrade put on the meters so that this daily reading can be done.
3. Mid-American is requiring this.
- Any information MA gathers, the City of Lake View will be privy to, which will help the city schedule the proper amount of electricity and save money.
