Minutes of the September 21, 2010 Sac County Supervisors meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to amend the agenda to discuss “on call pay” for Sac County Case Management. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.

In the first item of business, the Board took up the canvass of the special Iowa Central Community College levy renewal question on the ballot September 14, 2010 and offer the following results: Public Measure A, a twenty and one-fourth cent levy for the purchase of grounds, there were two hundred twenty two votes cast, of which 83 were in favor and 139 opposed; Public measure B, a six cent levy for the purpose of program sharing between community colleges, there were two hundred twenty one votes cast, of which 88 were in favor and 133 opposed.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to approve application for partial payment Number 2 on DD 73 in the amount of $80,716.66 submitted by OK Construction Company. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to abate $14,843.00 in property taxes assessed to property purchased by Iowa Dept of Transportation as right of way for new highway 20. Ayes all, motion carried. A copy of the list of properties is available in the County Treasurer’s office.

Lisa Bethune, Sac County CPC, joined the Board in a discussion on “on call” case management pay for the Sac County case management team.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the transfer of $2,137.10 from Sac County Farm to Market funds to Iowa DOT for testing done on the Wall Lake bridges project. Ayes all, motion carried.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
