Interment: July 13, 2011 at Oakland Cemetery, Sac City, IA

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family's discretion. Wayne “Wimp” Mohr, age 73, of Sac City, IA, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011, at his home.

Wayne Frederick Mohr was born August 24, 1937, in Carroll, IA, the son of Elmer and Lizzie (Schmidt) Mohr. He grew up on a farm near Breda and lived in the Sac County area his entire life. He went to country school and graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1956. Wimp met and fell in love with Ruth Dinges of Lake View, IA, and they were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake, IA, on June 13, 1959. They were blessed with five children: Michelle, Tom, Jim, Ann and Larry.

Wimp worked hard to provide for his family as a farmer. His whole life was family, farming, and livestock, but his family was the most important part of his life. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City. Wimp will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ruth; their children: Tom Mohr of Corwith, IA, Jim Mohr of Sac City, IA, Ann (Kent) Pugh of Sac City, IA, and Larry (Laurie Poen) Mohr of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Jacob, Halie and Kate Mohr, Walter, Elise, Marta, Matilda, and William Pugh, Joseph, Michael, Amber, Maria and Christopher Mohr; brother: Marvin (Ruth) Mohr of Ord, NE; sister: Verna Perry of Sac City, IA; sisters-in-law: Marge Mohr of Odebolt, IA, Mona Lou (Kenny) Pugh of Lake View, IA, Alice (Ron) Harmeyer of Goldfield, IA, Patsy (Roger) King of Lake View, IA; brother-in-law: Don Dinges of Amarillo, TX; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lizzie; his daughter Sr. Michelle Mohr; brothers: Wilber and Bing Hubert Mohr; sister Edna (Don) Buse; sister-in-law Donna Dinges; brother-in-law David Dinges; and parents-in-law William and Matilda (Snyder) Dinges.
