Interment was on March 14, 2011 at Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.

Robert James Nedrow, age 82, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City.

Bob was born on November 7, 1928 to Vernon P. and Marcella (Stockman) Nedrow in Red Cloud, NE. He grew up in Hartington, NE where he was baptized at the Congregational Church. He enjoyed Boy Scouts as a young boy and went on to receive his Eagle Scout Award. He was co-captain of the football team and President of his Junior Class. He graduated from high school in 1946. Bob attended the University of Nebraska and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

On June 5, 1949 Bob was united in marriage to Anne Crowley at the Congregational Church in Hartington. They came to Sac City where Bob opened Nedrow Rexall Drug on October 1, 1952. They were blessed with two sons: Daniel William and Lawrence and daughter Lisa Anne. He loved to travel with Anne and his family when they were younger and attend all their activities.

He was active in the community as a member of Kiwanis for over 50 years, Masonic Lodge member, served on the Sac City Council, member of Chamber of Commerce, Loring Family Hospice and was a Shriner. Bob was a member of the Presbyterian church for over 50 years where he served as trustee, elder, deacon and Sr. High Club leader and also enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was one of the founding fathers of the nursing home in Sac City and served as the Governor of the Iowa-Nebraska Kiwanis District. He was a great “Big Red” Supporter. He was a member of Iowa Public Service Corp. for over 20 years and was chairman of that organization from 1974-1988. He and his 16 member board arranged for Blue Cross to buy IPSC and the money received from that sale was given to the Iowa Pharmacy Foundation for scholarships for young pharmacist. He was a member of Score “Counselors for America’s Small Business” that works through the Small Business Administration. He will be missed by many that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife for over 61 years, Anne Nedrow of Sac City; sons: Daniel Nedrow and special friend Cindy of La Vista, NE and Lawrence Nedrow and wife Peggy of Milton, GA; daughter Lisa Anne Garrison and husband Tom of Lincolnton, NC; grandsons: Chase Nedrow who attends the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and Cole Nedrow of Milton, GA; sister Beatrix Louise Lee and husband Peter of Sun City, AZ; extended family members; and many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Marcella Nedrow.
