Lucille Mohr, age 86, of Lake View, IA, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Lucille Jansen was born on September 7, 1924, to parents Gerd and Tena (Huisenga) Jansen near Breda, IA on their Carroll County farm. She spent her early childhood there until her family moved to Carnarvon in 1931. She attended rural grade school one mile west of Carnarvon. She then attended Wall Lake High School. She was baptized and confirmed into the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Breda, IA.

On March 25, 1943, Lucille married Arnold H. Mohr at the parsonage in Ulmer, IA. To this union six children were born: Sandra Kay, Ilene Joy, Jerry Arnold, Linda Lou, Karen Ann, and Ricky Lee.

Lucille worked very hard to make a life for her family. She worked at the popcorn plant in Carnarvon and the A&W restaurant until 1971. She then moved to Woodward, IA, and worked at Woodward State Hospital as a cook, where she retired in 1988. She moved to Lake View, IA in 2000. She had many interests including embroidery, crocheting and playing bingo. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, baking, bird watching, the casino, and ballroom dancing. Her family remembers her for her baking, especially her cinnamon rolls, brownies, and her famous holiday cookies that were loved by many. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children: Ilene (Keith) Brotherson of Lake View, IA, Jerry (Paula) Mohr of Ulmer, IA, Linda Herron of Mesa, AZ, Karen (Gary) Schroeder of Lake View, IA, and Ricky (Ellen) Mohr of Apache Junction, AZ; son-in-law Dennis Eaton (companion Marcie) of Bouton, IA; grandchildren: Kevin (Cindy) Eaton of Winterset, IA, Brad (Susan) Eaton of Ankeny, IA, Chantel Brotherson of Broomfield, CO, Angela Brotherson (companion Curtis) of Brighton, CO, Mitzi (Rob) Callow of Cave Creek, AZ, Stephanie Stimson (companion Neal) of Mesa, AZ, Chad (Shanda) Mohr of Denison, IA, Brian (Bryanne) Schroeder of Spencer, IA, Jason (Sarah) Schroeder of Johnston, IA, Troy Schroeder (fiancée Stefanie) of West Des Moines, IA; 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gerd and Tena; her daughter Sandra Eaton; son-in-law Kenneth Herron; grandson Troy Eaton; great-grandson Cole Callow; brothers: Lee (Genevieve) Jansen and Gerkie (Bernice) Jansen; sisters: Jenny (Pete) Bruns, Belle (Claus) Peters, and Irene (Robert) Terrell.
