Sac County Supervisors discuss the use of shared septic tanks by small town residents

SAC CITY, IOWA – NOVEMBER 23, 2010

1. Have you talked to other sanitarians about residents in small towns, (think Ulmer,) using shared septic tanks?
- seems to be allowed on a case by case basis via variance.
- There must be a contract between parties.
-- This carries a yearly fee.
2. Nemaha is having septic tank issues and is thinking about building a lagoon for the tanks to feed into.
- Would it be less costly to have shared septic tanks?
