Is the county killing trees and then not removing them?
SAC CITY, IOWA – AUGUST 31, 2010
At the August 31, 2010 Sac County Supervisors meeting, Sac County Auditor Jim Dowling asked Sac County Engineer Ron Haden if it is their practice to kill nuisance trees and then not remove them. This question was prompted by a complaint he’d received from a citizen who alleged that very practice.
Said Mr. Haden, “Yeah, that is a lot quicker process.”
Sac County Supervisors Dean Stock concurred saying that he hasn’t seen county employees get out and use chain saws in most of the time he’s been in office.
The trees in question are apparently twenty feet tall and can reach the road possibly causing a travel hazard should they fall. According to the engineer, if the tree falls into the road, the county immediately pushes the tree into the ditch to clear the hazard, then attempts to get permission to push it back onto the owner’s property.

Who's letting these people hold office? Shouldn't you remove the trees after you kill the because I doubt people want a dead tree in their view all the time. It does seem better than letting a hazard happen, but it still seems like the city is being lazy.
