Back to the drawing board for debris removal in Sac City, Iowa
SAC CITY, IOWA – JUNE 28, 2010
The Sac City Council discovered that there were no voluntary bids for removing the accumulated storm debris pile located behind VFW Post 590. According to City Administrator Adam Ledford, Bruce Wisedorf of the Iowa Department of Homeland Security indicated that the city’s next step will be to solicit bids.
Mr. Wisedorf is the Department of Homeland Security employee assigned to management of debris removal for the particular ice storm this event experienced in January of 2010.
Council person Jim Frederick volunteered to contact a person he knows at the DNR to explore the possibility of having the pile chipped for use by the city.
