Funeral Service: Thursday, 1:30 p.m., June 24, 2010 at Lakes United Methodist Church, Lake View.
Interment: following the service June 24, 2010 at the Wall Lake Cemetery.
Eva Mae Reiter, age 81, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Eva was born on July 29, 1928, in Odebolt, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Esther (Bonnichsen) Roth. She attended rural school through the eighth
grade. On July 19, 1947, Eva was united in marriage to Jeryl Reiter at the Methodist Church in Wall Lake. This union was blessed with two
daughters: Julie and Joleen.
Eva was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her grandchildren. In her younger years she worked at the popcorn plant and worked at
Twilight Acres Nursing Home as a C.N.A. After receiving her G.E.D. she began working for the Postal Service. She was an avid gardener, loved
quilting and golfing and going to coffee every morning with her friends. Eva was active in the community and was on the committee that helped
restore the Andy Williams House, helped with Bible School and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She also did volunteer work
at the Nursing Home. She was a member of Lakes United Methodist Church and President of UMW for many years. She was also a member of
the Wall Lake Legion Auxiliary and Wall Lake Research Club.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Jeryl Reiter; daughters Julie and husband Denny Dozark of Vail and Joleen Reiter of Decorah;
grandchildren: Jason Dozark and wife Allison of Mequon, WI, Rachel and husband Jon Judisch of Lake View, Megan Stayskal of Pittsboro, NC,
and Nick Stayskal of Decorah; and two great-grandchildren: Chloe and Cole Judisch of Lake View. Other survivors include her brother Alvin and
wife Betty Roth of Wall Lake; sisters: Betty and husband Charles Brotherton of Wall Lake and Hazel Ryan of Lake View; many extended family
members and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ruth Bengford.
