Mary Lou Borron, age 85, of Pierson, IA, formerly of Lake View, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her residence in Pierson.

Mary Lou was born February 18, 1926, in Lake View, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Hartman) Ferguson. She graduated from Lake View High School and went on to further her education at Drake University. She married Donald Raymond Borron in Lake View on September 28, 1946.

She worked as a secretary for the guidance counselor in Exira Community Schools and secretary for the superintendent at Ida Grove Community Schools, retiring in 1998. Mary Lou also worked for Farber & Otteman in Lake View as a greeter for over 15 years. Mary had a big heart and crocheted over 250 afghans and distributed them to nursing home residents in the Booneville, MO area. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, bird watching, and crafts. Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: David Borron and wife Jane of St. Cloud, MN, Michele Gassaway and husband Bob of Pierson, IA; brothers: William Ferguson and wife Pamela of Altoona, IA, Charles Ferguson and wife Olive of Lake View, IA; grandchildren: Elizabeth Sorensen, Rebecca Cornell, Linda Cue, Luann Avalos, and Jonathon Borron; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah and Michele Cue, Micaela, Sara, Hannah, and Nathaniel Avalos, and Michael Sorensen; childhood friend Alice Klinzman; and friend Betty Messenbrink.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband D. Raymond Borron.
