What's up with the Sac City Council's attitude?

At the August 8, 2011 Sac City Council meeting, the council voted unanimously to offer the position of Water Plant Superintendent to then Sac City Councilor Jim Johnston.

After the vote was taken and approved, I asked how much Mr Johnston was going to be compensated. Showcasing their usual firm grasp of the issues at hand, not a single person in the room could answer that question.

AFTER the meeting was over, I was approached by the city administrator, who after looking it up was able to answer that question.

If the entire city council is apathetic to the point that they don't even bother asking what they intend to pay someone before VOTING on it, why are they even considering attempting to get elected again?

In my opinion, this is a sign that Bill Brenny, Jim Frederick, and Mayor Barb Powell are experiencing job fatigue, (to say nothing of Gary Hansen and Nick Frohardt, who also did not know how much they intended to pay Mr. Johnston). They must be tired of looking out for the public's well being and just want to get through the votes as quickly as possible, doing little to no research, and not bringing anything to the table for voters except for their apathetic attitude, and their lazy style of governance.

It is time for the mayor to take a firm hand with these people and make them and the public aware of all the issues that are being considered before she allows these motions to come to vote. That's what a mayor is supposed to do, and ours clearly isn't doing it.

That's my opinion,
