Passed Away - Lillian Jane Lee
Lillian Jane Lee, age 88, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes, Odebolt. Pastor Bruce Kaihoi will officiate. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt.
Born February 25, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, Lillian Jane Ringland was the daughter of Josiah and Olive (Brakey) Ringland. Jane was raised in the Sioux City area where she went to school at East High School and then worked in the community as a secretary. She was a member of Billy Sunday Tabernacle where she taught Sunday school classes as well as serving as part-time secretary.
On August 26, 1964, she married John Lee of Danbury, Iowa, and lived at the farm with him until he retired from farming in 1987. They moved to a small acreage north of Odebolt and was active in the First Baptist Church in Kiron. The couple resided there until John's death in 1993, after which Jane moved into Odebolt. She became involved in clubs and volunteer work at the church. After breaking her hip in 2007, Jane made her home at the Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center where she maintained residence until becoming ill a week ago. She was hospitalized at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove until the time she went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning.
In addition to her husband, Jane was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joseph Ringland.
Survivors include her stepchildren, David (Linda) Lee of Conrad, and Carol (John) Calvert of Ooltewah, TN; five step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elinor Ringland of Washington State; two nieces; and two nephews.
