- When you can drive north of town and spot Sac City employees scouting deer herds during working hours, it's not time to hire a new full time employee to take up their slack... it's time to fire the boss!
Funny how people are so quick to make negative comments about the Sac County Sheriff's Office. Let me be the first to say - Thank you, Deputy Erritt. I wish you a complete and speedy recovery.

ReplyDeleteThe situation in this county, (if you are not from here,) is that we have a total of two law enforcement, one State patrol who covers 11 counties, and one sheriff deputy at any one time.
During the last storm there was a situation where a guy was found deceased in his vehicle a couple of days after it was towed off the highway. It was blizzard like conditions, so on that day our county happened to have three law enforcement, (or two and a 1/11, if you want to be accurate about how that ISP officer's attentions are divided up,) on duty because the Sheriff himself came in to lend a hand. (Keep in mind that this is to cover a county roughly 600 square miles in size)
According to the Sheriff, the vehicle, which was blocking a state highway, was reported as empty by at least one of the parties who had actual physical contact with the vehicle. At the time of the discovery of this seemingly empty car, all of the law enforcement were engaged helping out stranded motorists who called for assistance elsewhere.
Because it was the Sheriff's call to have the vehicle towed, this has led to a lot of second guessing by viewers about what could have been done differently by the Sheriff's department.
In particular there are comments that call for electing a new Sheriff, (there was/is a lot of emotion surrounding this incident,) and are probably the comments to which "SB" was referring.
Those comments are attached to the the actual post of the incident.
I wish the people who post on this sight, could let the man rest in peace, as know one knows, anything about him, and if his family have accepted this, then let it rest. I hope the people who are all negative about the sheriff's dept. never needs their assistance, as you would always think neg, as that is how this county operates, nothing ever positive. They do a good job, they are not God!!
