Minutes of the December 28, 2010 Sac County Supervisors Meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Dean Stock, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Bensley to amend the agenda to consider quarterly transfers and to hear a report from the County Recorder. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.

Supervisor Bensley administered the Oath of Office to Rick Hecht and Dean Stock, re-elected supervisors, Nancy Auen, re-elected County Recorder, Vicki Peyton, re-elected County Treasurer and Ben Smith, newly elected County Attorney.

It was moved by Bensley and seconded by Hecht to approve the transfers of $259,417.00 from Rural Basic Fund to Secondary Road Fund and $24,061.75 from General Basic Fund to Secondary Road Fund. Ayes all, motion carried.

Nancy Auen, Sac County Recorder, reported to the Board that the county recorders of Iowa may be losing the passport service as part of the recorder’s office. The Department of State is requiring that there be more segregation of duties when issuing passports and birth certificates in the same office. The Board and the Recorder will discuss options to relocate that service to another office in the county courthouse.

The Board of Supervisors moved to the Law Enforcement Center conference room to see a demonstration of TRACS/MACH, a computer generated communication system for law enforcement.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
