Auburn City Council reviews the results of the whole town audit

…takes recommendations for how to use the grant.

AUBURN, IOWA – NOVEMBER 8, 2010

1. Jonathon Roberts from IAMU presents results of the final report for the whole town audit.
-Recommends using 2010 money to change to a more efficient style of light bulb for lighting city hall.
-- Is the cheapest to implement.
- Recommends changing to R38 insulation, (city has R19 above library, R24 above city office now.)
-- May cost more dollars initially, but pays for itself the quickest.

2. As a result of this program, the city has $2,500 to spend with nothing to spend it on, (for energy efficiency)
- They could just about to all the lights in the building for that price.
- with a combination of other funds, the city might be able to get the library insulated.

3. Council has an extended technical discussion about types of bulbs and ballast that may be needed for the city building.
4. Clerk directed to put a plan together with the Supt. DPW to out in bulbs that are more energy efficient.
