The Lake View City Council moves forward with a waste water treatment plant upgrade
LAKE VIEW, IOWA – AUGUST 2, 2010
Following is the summary of improvements to the Lake View waste water treatment plant that are recommended followed by the estimated cost of those improvements:
Lake View Superintendent of Public Works Jack DeBourgh, recommended to the council that they start the upgrade by fixing the manhole, and installing a valve on a clarifier.
According to City Attorney Erin McCullough this work will help the city in its lawsuit with Kuehl & Payer to show that they are trying to diminish the damage that is occurring as a result of a manhole that the city claims was engineered incorrectly causing water to back up before going into the waste water treatment plant.
The council directed City Administrator Scott Peterson to prepare to fix the manhole and splitter box.
