- I would think it could happen at the same time.

4. Prosecuting the buildings that fall under the dangerous buildings ordinance.
- council needs to be notified that they have a law they can use.
5. Tax sale described.
- supervisors rummage around in it and draw a number.
- The assignment of the tax sale is not the same as a holding a deed.
6. The problem of people paying back taxes.
- When somebody picks up back taxes, it starts the process over again.
- This is where the absentee tax payer is really messed up.
7. New nuisance law.
- None of my cities have got this so far.
- The best way is to get them to sign it over to you
- I don’t know how the city can get out of cleaning them up.
- Does the city have the money to do this?
- Odebolt used their local option sales tax and it hurt.

- There are many things that are now classified as asbestos which makes the process more difficult.

- Not available to private citizens, just cities and counties.
- Make sure that building owners get non-asbestos roofing.
- When I was in the lumber business I was involved in a class action.
- Free Methodists church will cost thousands more to destroy because of asbestos.
13. Do you have an estimate?
-There is an estimate for one building with asbestos removal included.
-Amount isn’t shared.
- There could be students who are looking for projects for training.
- Prison labor?
14. We have to move on this before June.
- Can you definitively tell the council what you will do? (No answer.)
15. Discussion about specific properties.
- The city will be liable.
16. I think if we put a sign on the front and in the back, we’re gonna start some talk.
17. Who has the authority to place condemned signs?
- Enforcement officer has the authority to post signs where he deems necessary.
- The ordinance doesn’t specify who shall direct the zoning officer to post signs.
- Arrival of city administrator.
- It is the zoning officers place to make the determination of where signs will be placed.
- What stops the enforcement offer from signing any house?
- Is there an appeal process.
- I can put the sign up, but I don’t think it will expedite anything.
- Somebody needs to discuss things before the tax sale.
18. How much will it cost to tear down the old shoe store and how much will be covered by a grant.
- The grant is competitive, so there is no guarantee that we will get it.
- It will cost between $25,000 and $45,000 to do the complete process.
- The money Shirley is talking about will cover $5,000 to $8,000.
- This type of facility will not qualify for federal funding.
- There are strings attached.
