Auburn City Council approves insurance coverage for the year
AUBURN, IOWA – MAY 10, 2010
These are not necessarily quotes.
1. Children are no longer picked up by the bus at the gazebo, but has no bearing on the insurance that must be carried.
- The liability is $2,000,000 with a medical expense of $5,000 which is common
2. Comp and collision on autos.
- $250.00 deductible on comp, $350.00 deductible on collision.
- The only autos the city has full coverage on are the 1984 dump truck and the 1999 [UNINTELLIGIBLE]
- The city has liability only on the fire truck and a different dump truck then mentioned above.
3. Liability due to errors and omissions is $2,000,000 for people that people feel they have been damaged as a result of.
- EXAMPLE: Clean up day volunteer trails chemicals across some guy’s yard and ruin grass… This covers it.
- This also covers all of the boards.
4. Police professional coverage due to Sheriff department contracting.
- did not say amount but noted that the city is not paying a big premium as if they had their own force.
5. Property.
- Buildings and contents are blanketed.
-$1,000 deductable.
6. No coverage on transformers or poles.
- …Was going to bring quote but found out that location of each pole and transformer had to be specified. Vowed to work on it.
- Can’t get quote until items are located.
7. Council members shown list of all items that are insured.
- Computers insured for $22,000.
- Software insured for $10,000.
- Stone pillars added.
- Signage added.
- fire station equipment that can be taken off premises included.
- Street lamps added, (just the decorative ones)
8. All insurance is blanketed, so individual buildings that are underinsured are covered.
9. Motion to pay insurance bill seconded and passed.
